About Me
I had always owned German Shepherds and I love them! Great dogs! Smart and beautiful and so loyal! But unfortunately, like so many other breeds, Shepherds intimidate some people. I'm a nurse and was working in a Alzheimer's facility that allowed staff to bring their dogs to work so for the first time since I moved to Sacramento (almost 10 years ago) I could get a dog and actually spend time with it. I wanted a dog that would appeal to our residents and not scare people so I started doing my research. I happened to see a Goldendoodle at the park and he was so cute so I started to focus on getting a doodle. I found out that doodles were supposed to be very smart and I already knew how cute they are so my search to find my new best friend began in earnest. Luckily I found Murphy through an internet ad in the SacBee classifieds. He came to me on October 9th in the middle of my workday. I went to pick him up and he stole my heart at first sight! Over the next weeks and months as Murph and I bonded I came to realize that my buddy is the smartest dog I've ever owned...and I say that not because I love him so much but because it's absolutely the truth! Seems that when you cross a Standard Poodle (one of the top 5 intelligent breeds) with a Golden Retriever (a breed that is also smart but even more than being intelligent, Goldens want to please their people more then anything) you have a perfect dog! I feel so blessed to have found my Murphy and I tell everyone that I will never own another breed of dog. The only downside of owning a Goldendoodle is that it's impossible to go for a walk and actually get excercise because no matter where we go we're constantly (and I MEAN constantly) stopped so people can fawn over my boy! And believe me, he loves it! Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Please try again. 0 Comments |
